The one that got away.
At the crack of dawn there was a glow. A type of glow that every landscape photographer gets excited over. 30 plus minutes before the sun was set to rise the high clouds started changing from darkness into a soft pink. During your average sunrise this happens only at the last minute but on the really special ones, those vying for sunrise of the year it happens much earlier. We were locked and loaded ready for an almighty show... until a thick band of southerly driven clouds took hold.
You could faintly see the hues being projected but nothing worth writing home about. So close, yet so far!
