Every package includes a pre-shoot briefing with Adam, your photographer, to plan the ultimate surf photography experience.
You call the shots! Choose your beach, pick your preferred time (morning or afternoon), decide whether Adam captures the action from land or sea, and, of course, choose your outfit.
Then it’s time to paddle out, have fun, and work together to capture some epic moments in the surf!

Heatwaves specialises in the iconic beaches of Sydney’s Eastern Suburbs, from Bondi to Maroubra. Have another beach in mind? No worries! We’re happy to explore other locations to make your surf photography session happen. Additional travel costs may apply, so just let me know your preferred spot and we’ll make it work.

As the sun rises or sets, the sky comes alive with an incredible palette of colours, creating the perfect backdrop for those epic surf shots. But the choice is yours! Whether it’s a sunrise, sunset or somewhere in between, all we need is great light, good conditions and a positive attitude. The rest? We’ll take care of it!

LIFE HAPPENS. MOTHER NATURE HAPPENS. I GET IT!
At Heatwaves, I’m committed to creating an incredible experience, not just taking great photos. Sometimes the weather has other plans, and that’s all part of the adventure!
Here’s how rescheduling works:
- More than 12 hours’ notice: If you need to cancel or reschedule your session with more than 12 hours’ notice, we can arrange a new date at no additional cost.
- Less than 12 hours’ notice or unfavourable conditions: If you need to change plans within 12 hours of your session, or we arrive at the beach and discover that the conditions aren’t suitable for great shots, I’ll happily reschedule your session once at no extra cost.
- Rescheduling within four weeks: If we’re unable to lock in a new session date within four weeks of the postponed session, your payment will be refunded, less a $65 AUD booking fee.
- Once we’re underway: Once we agree to proceed with the session, the full package price applies for the services provided.
The goal is simple: to make sure we get the best possible conditions, capture some incredible moments and create an experience worth remembering!
How many images will I get?
How many images will I get?
During your 1–2 hour session, I may capture over 400 digital images, which will be available for download within 24 hours. You’ll then have the opportunity to select at least 10 images for professional editing and 3 for printing, depending on your chosen package. Your edited images and prints will be ready within 5 business days of placing your order.
Please note that rush orders may incur an additional fee.

YOUR PHOTOS, YOUR FAVOURITES, YOUR STYLE
All your images will be delivered through a shared Dropbox folder for easy access and download. To keep things quick and simple, your initial images will be provided at 800 × 553 px.
From there, it’s your turn to pick your favourites! Send Adam your selection, and he’ll work his magic to professionally edit each image and make those epic moments POP!
Your final edited images will be delivered at 1800 × 1200 px — perfect for desktop wallpapers, 5 × 7” prints and more.
WANT TO GO BIGGER?
Love a shot so much you want to see it on your wall? Heatwaves can organise larger prints to bring your favourite surf moments to life.

Do I need to be a professional surfer?
Do I need to be a professional surfer?
Absolutely not! Adam welcomes surfers of all abilities and will tailor each session to your level, provided conditions are safe.
In fact, Adam has photographed the same surfers on multiple occasions as they’ve progressed from beginners to intermediate surfers. Booking more than one session is a great way to capture your progression, see how far you’ve come and identify areas where you can improve.
Whether you’re just starting out or already charging, Heatwaves is all about capturing your journey, celebrating your progress and helping you see your surfing in a whole new light!

Absolutely! A Heatwaves surf photography session makes an awesome gift for any surf lover. Whether it’s for a birthday, a special occasion or just because, it’s a unique way to capture their passion for the ocean.
Just let Adam know if it’s a surprise gift, and he’ll keep it under wraps. The last thing we want is to spoil the surprise!

SAFETY, RESPONSIBILITY & THE UNEXPECTED
Your Safety Comes First
Heatwaves is responsible for capturing your surf session through photography but cannot be held responsible for inclement weather, a surfer’s ability, ocean conditions or any other factors beyond the act of taking photographs.
Whether you’re a surfer, bodyboarder, bodysurfer, swimmer, paddleboarder or participating in any other water activity, your safety is your responsibility. You are in control of your session and must always assess the conditions, understand your limits and make safe decisions.
If you feel the surf has become too dangerous, stop your session and make your way safely back to shore. Adam will be carrying professional camera equipment and cannot be relied upon to provide water safety or emergency assistance.
Know your ability and surf within your limits. Adam would much rather capture you surfing confidently and enjoying yourself on smaller waves than struggling to manage waves beyond your ability. The goal is to capture you at your best while keeping the experience safe and enjoyable.
Ocean Conditions & Image Quality
Photographing in the ocean comes with its challenges. Saltwater, splashes and water droplets on the camera lens can occasionally affect image sharpness. Adam will always do his best to keep the lens clear and capture the crispest images possible.
However, if you catch an incredible wave and the resulting image is unfortunately out of focus or affected by water droplets, there’s no guarantee it can be salvaged. Sometimes, the best option is to get back out there and try for another one!
At Heatwaves, we’ll always do our best to capture those epic moments, but the ocean is unpredictable, and some things are simply beyond our control.
