I’m a Sydney-born and bred schoolteacher, adventurer, outdoor enthusiast and photographer with a serious addiction to capturing the world around me!

Through Heatwaves, I specialise in surf photography, ocean swells, breathtaking sunrises and those fleeting moments that remind us how incredible life can be.

HOW IT ALL BEGAN

Believe it or not, as a kid, the waves absolutely freaked me out. That was until one fateful day when I braved the waters and was kidnapped by a rogue group of mermaids who taught me to love the ocean and everything in it. 🧜‍♂️

Okay, perhaps that last part is a little exaggerated... but ever since, my love for the ocean has been deeply ingrained in me!

My passion for photography goes way back to when Santa delivered my very first Polaroid i-Zone camera. Since then, digital photography has taken over and, although the technology has developed (pun absolutely intended), my fascination with the process hasn't changed. There's something special about capturing a moment and seeing it all unfold into an image you can share with the world.

CHASING THE MAGIC

My favourite time of day? The crack of dawn. Every single time.

There's something truly magical about those early hours. The sun creeping over the horizon, the sand beneath your feet, the surf rolling in, the colours in the sky, and the sounds and smells of the coastline waking up.

Sometimes, it wraps around you like a warm blanket. Other times, a freezing winter morning slaps you awake and reminds you that you're alive!

Either way, I wouldn't have it any other way.

Being able to capture the beauty that surrounds me and share it with others is a dream come true. Whether it's a perfectly timed wave, a spectacular sunrise or a moment of pure stoke in the surf, I'm always chasing that next shot that makes you stop and feel something.

WHERE TO FIND ME

I'm based in Sydney, Australia, and there's not much that can keep me away from the water. Spring, summer, autumn or winter, you'll most likely find me hanging around Bondi Beach, camera in hand and saltwater in my veins.
