A booming South swell today; only the bravest (and craziest) venturing out beyond the safety of dry land. I was so stoked to see a bunch of madmen charging off Coogee's Wedding Cake Island early this morning. A super sight watching these monumentally sized mountains of rushing water come racing towards the rocks carrying these nutters. I can only imagine what it would be like to see or ride even bigger waves... you know like Nazaré, Jaws and Mavericks... Crazy!!
I was asked by a mate, "Why didn't you go out with your housing?" Simple answer... I didn't want to die getting pummelled under a mountain of water. No thank you!
Tomorrow the swell will drop... but hopefully not too much. Wind will still be offshore and the sun will be out (still damn cold though) Could make for some decent surfing conditions on a fine Sunday.
