Have you ever been to the Snowy Mountains in a poor snow year? When they have the snow guns firing all throughout the day just keep the base topped up. No, well let me explain. These machines pump out at high speed a fine watery mist into the cold air, which then falls as snow. They are extremely loud and when coupled with wind are a nuisance whilst going up chairlifts... better cover up!
Well this morning felt like that. The wind was howling and the huge amounts of sea spray and fine sand particles were going everywhere. At points I thought it was going to blow me over (not a nice feeling when you're standing on top a cliff).
I drove to Maroubra and a couple of other spots. By far the cleanest was the South end, not as blowout. On the way back I stopped in at Bronte, a crew of 15+ were out off the Waverley Cemetery testing the conditions. Taco must have lost his board, saw him do the lengthy swim back to Bronte to retrieve another... Ouch
Have a good one,
Adam
