Welcome to summer! Or at least summer vibes...
The past few days have been quite simply exceptional. Hot sunny days spent lounging around doing not a lot - for once a weekend with little pressure to do anything.
Yesterday I jumped in early, for the sole purpose of escaping the roaming clusters of flies terrorising the seaside sculpture critics. It brought back some not so fond memories of our Victorian road trip a while back. OMG! You'd stand still for a split second and then BOOM! Hundreds (possible thousands) of the damn things were speckled all over your back and buzzing across your face. Heavy duty fly spray had zero effect or persuasive power over these pests... they just kept on coming!! Bondi, thankfully wasn't this bad. But, one or one thousand, they're annoying!! The water was chilly, and it felt marvellous. Instant relief from the stifling heat and the you know whats. Waves? Nothing worthy of catching, just a few minis by the shore.
Today was very different. A cloudy beginning, less flies, the heat of yesterday had all but disappeared... and there were waves. 2 to 3 footers from the South. Pick the right one and you were rewarded with some great hackable sections and launch pads... just ask @beaubowalker aka Nitro (see above). He was having a field day out there.
Next chance of swell is Thursday. Have a great week :-)
Cheers, Adam
