A couple of days back Seb & I went chasing clean waves to shoot. Safe to say we had a blast and scored some absolute bangers! I chose to tackle this beast with a longer lens than I normally would, a 70-200 for the photography inclined. It was definitely a challenge with the extra weight and overall I'm pretty pleased with the results. I was able to get in close and capture some of the intricate details of the forming waves which I quite like. That being said I missed a load of shots, in particular the meatiest barrels which stretched out over my head. The lens was just too tight in. So, will I use it again? Yes, but only on the smaller days.

At the end of our couple hour shooting session Seb called out 'Dolphin, right behind you!' A moment later a gentle arc rippled through the water a few metres away and exhaled. Then not just one, but half-a-dozen majestic mates cruised in behind a glassy wave. These body surfing champions of the world showed off their skills as I stood mesmerised. Was this really happening? They were headed in my direction and only metres away kicked out... For a split second I thought they'd whiz right by me or take me out.. one of the two!? Did I get any shots? Nope, my card was already full. Seb did & it's a cracker!
