Now this was a memorable wave.
This was by far the biggest, most gnarly wave that came through Bronte on this day... you could see it build from a mile away. It just kept getting bigger and bigger. This surfer had a sick ride, taking it from way out.. just before it exploded he hopped out. Pretty stoked to see this ripper!!
As you can imagine I took a few pics in this series but what made this frame so special is how the spray (bottom of the pic) that was there moments prior had fallen leaving a clear view as he flew off the wave. His board tilted right over showing off its base, a bright yellow that contrasted so magnificently against the colour in the water and the white offshore spray. I love this shot; so much power and yet so much grace.
